Today's Salah Times in Jos
Anchor your day at 05:03 in Jos — the prayer that moves first moves everything else with it.
A Sunnah of Quiet
The Prophet ﷺ would sit in his place after Fajr until sunrise — a sunnah Jos can revive easily inside its 70-minute dawn window.
Imsak vs Fajr
Some calendars list an “imsak” a few minutes before Fajr; in fiqh, the binding cutoff in Jos remains the 05:03 adhan itself.
Short-Dawn Bedtime
With only 70 minutes from Fajr to sunrise in Jos, missing 05:03 forfeits the whole prayer — bed by 21:33 is not optional, it is the prayer’s prerequisite.
A Compressed Dawn
At only 70 minutes, the dawn window in Jos is on the shorter side worldwide; arrive at Fajr already in wudu, not in motion.
Why Light Bends Before Sunrise
Atmospheric refraction lifts the sun’s image above the geometric horizon, lengthening dawn — your 70-minute window in Jos already accounts for this.
Walking to the Mosque
Each step toward the masjid before 05:03 in Jos raises a degree and erases a sin — distance is reward, not friction.
A Stricter Fajr Angle
Jos uses an 18°-class angle — among the most cautious — pulling today’s Fajr at 05:03 a few minutes earlier than 15° schemes would.
Nearest Praying City
The closest sister city for comparison is Bauchi, about 117 km from Jos — its Fajr differs by only 4 minute(s).
