Across the year Fajr in Xining swings between 04:03 and 06:48 — today’s 05:48 is one point on that arc.
Six-Hour Minimum
If circumstances make 22:18 impossible, sleeping six hours and waking at Fajr (05:48) is enough — sleep deprivation is repaid in afternoon qailulah, never in missed prayer.
Distance to Makkah
Xining lies about 6150 km from Makkah; the Fajr you pray at 05:48 aligns with one prayed there a few minutes apart.
City Coordinates
Xining is anchored at 36.6° latitude, 101.8° east — those numbers are what the calendar quietly uses to compute today’s 05:48.
The Local Coastline Effect
Coastal cities perceive dawn slightly earlier than inland ones at the same latitude — your 05:48 in Xining is the calendar truth, not the horizon’s mood.
A Month From Now
Thirty days from today, Xining’s Fajr lands 26 minutes later than 05:48 — the sun has moved, and so has the prayer.
The Coolest Air of the Day
Air over Xining is typically at its coldest a few minutes after 05:48 — a small physical reminder of the prayer’s privilege.
A Horizon-Based Clock
In essence the prayer calendar in Xining is a horizon-based clock; 05:48 simply reads where the sun is, not what time it is.
Why Two Calendars Disagree
Two trusted calendars in Xining can list Fajr a few minutes apart at 05:48 — the difference lies in angle (e.g. 18° vs 15°), not in error.
